Overview
Patients who are using PrEP receive intensive adherence support at the initial visit, as well as ongoing check-ins and tailored support to sustain PrEP use over time.
Rationale
In order to effectively take PrEP and sustain PrEP use over time, patients need clear information, motivation, and strategies. Providing in-depth PrEP adherence support and counseling is associated with greater patient engagement, self-efficacy, and retention in care.
